(English Sunday School, St. Mary’s Sandakan)
On the 16th February 2025, English Sunday School held a Registration Day for new and old students at St. Mary’s Parish Hall from Level 1 up to Level 10. A total of 117 students and 71 parents and guardians were present that day.

Respected teachers in charge of each levels
It started with an opening prayer by Sandra Paulinus followed by Gospel reading from Luke 6:17, 20-26 by Rosemary Neubronner.

Action Songs
There are some activities were being held such as action songs and followed by ice breaking sessions which were Whispering Hope that played by parents/guardians and students from different levels.

Ice breaking sessions
During the sessions with students and parents, Sister Rose talks about the Definition of Catechists which is not the communication of doctrine or a set of philosophical principles, but an introduction to a person. It also mentioned about parents is the first catechists to their children because parents is the one that have the responsibility and opportunity to guide their children’s spiritual growth and home is where children first learn about God and to appreciate the meaning and beauty of the Faith.
Followed by how social media can transform our children behaviours that influence the formation of personal identity and interpersonal relationship.
Finally, Sister Rose talks about cooperation that needed from the English Sunday School students and their parents/guardians and after the briefing finish, they sharing potluck lunch and ended with closing prayer.
