The congregation

Tawau: Holy Trinity Church celebrated the parish feast day, Feast of the Most Holy Trinity on 7th June 2009 together with Bishop Julius Gitom in a mass concelebrated with Msgr. Nicholas Ong and assistant rector Fr. Philip Muji.

After the mass, the parishioners gathered together in the parish hall for a fellowship with presentations provided by the BECs of the parish. This was the first time the newly formed BECs of the parish were asked to provide the parish day presentations, and almost everyone agreed they had done a wonderful job. It is the aim of the diocese that BECs will eventually be the main thrust of the parish’s pastoral direction a point also emphasized by the Bishop in his speech.

His Lordship also had a brief dialogue with the neophytes who earlier gave sharings of their experiences in their journey of becoming Catholics.

In the previous evening, members of the Parish Pastoral Council had an exchange of views over dinner in the parish canteen. There, the council members had a chance to update Bishop Julius on the various challenges faced by the mission schools, youth and some of the pastoral communities. In response, His Lordship gave the council members some insight in the way and direction that the diocese is heading.
