Tawau : After serving St Mary’s Parish, Sandakan for the past five years, since his priestly ordination in St Peter’s Church, Kudat on 10th December 2005, Fr. Paul Lo will soon be transferred back to the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu. He is expected to leave for Rome in June to take up a 4 year study on Scripture.
Fr Lo, the main celebrant of the Eucharistic Celebration on Saturday, 1st May 2010 at the Holy Trinity Church shared in his homily how Jesus demonstrates to us a love that goes beyond oneself. It is not just a love that knows humility, or a love that serves but also a love that gives life.
He took the opportunity to express his appreciation to all the faithful of Holy Trinity Parish for the cooperation and support rendered him during his tenure serving the Parish since 2008.
Though based in Sandakan, he would travel to Tawau and Lahad Datu monthly to celebrate the Chinese Mass. He also provided pastoral care to the local Chinese community. He is very much involved in the Neo Catechumenal Community in Holy Trinity, assisting in celebrating the Eucharist and conducting the monthly Convivence.
After the Eucharistic Celebration, they adjourned to the Parish Hall for a fellowship dinner.
In his address to the parishioners during the fellowship he called upon the young people of HTC to discern deeply and prayerfully to the calling to the priestly vocation. He would be most happy to see, in the near future that the Parish would produce a local priest.
We wish Fr Paul, ‘Bon Voyage and may God’s grace be with him always.’
