Fr Phillip commissioning the carolers
Tawau : Holy Trinity Parish started their yearly Home Caroling on Sunday, 12th December 2010.
The carolers were commissioned during the sunset mass of the Third (Gaudete) Sunday of Advent the previous evening.
In his homily, the celebrant Fr. Philip Muji said to the carolers,” Caroling is not just about singing. You are prophets, commissioned and sent out to proclaim the good news to everyone, telling them of our glorious expectation when we celebrate our Christ’s coming in the season of Christmas.”

Carol by candlelight

After the Eucharist, the parishioners adjourned to the parish hall where they caroled to one another in the carol by candlelight.

To prepare them well spiritually for the caroling, all the carolers went through an afternoon of recollection in the previous Sunday.
This yearly program has been going on for the past 9 years with the help of the Cluster coordinator of each housing area.

Last year 14 BEC groups started their own home caroling with great success and this year there are an additional of 2 BEC groups.

Caroling is a time -honored tradition where carolers visit house to house in the neighborhood, bringing much joy of the festive season and providing fellowship for both carolers and the residents. The presence of the carolers with their Christmas songs and cheery greetings adds spirit to the the occasion.
