Arnessan Anak Bitim

Shalom, to all brothers and sisters in Christ. My name is Arnessan Anak Bitim from Sarawak, now I live and work in Lahad Datu Sabah. On April 8th, I received my sacrament of Baptism at St. Dominic, Lahad Datu.

I would like to share that as a Catholic, Jesus Christ has been at work in my daily life and at the same time my wife as my great support for me to joined RCIA class.

In my previous life story, I am a loner and prefer to isolate myself from the rest of christian society. The sacrament of Baptism had taught me to find the meaning of my life. (John 14:13-14 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.). These verses have awakened me to listen to the voice and call of God. My heart was touched and I feel blessed.

I hope that I will continue grow stronger in Catholic faith and be bold in sharing the good news. Lastly, I would like to thank the Rector of  St. Dominic Parish, Rev Fr Stanley William Matakim, all those who have guided me and my family for all the wonderful Catholic Christians knowledge sharing.

Ginalyn Oti

Shalom, brothers and sisters in Christ. I am Ginalyn Oti, one of RCIA 2023’s newly baptised in St. Dominic Lahad Datu. First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the Parish Priest of St. Dominic, Rev. Fr. Stanley William Matakim, and for those who guide me on my Catholic journey and especially for my beloved family who are always my great support in my mission, to receive the sacrament of baptism. The challenge of my journey as a Catholic was never easy, I always wanted to give up because of my past life experiences filled with bad teenage social issues. But without knowing it, I found an even better way through the sacrament of baptism and even got a lot of support from my own husband. I hope that I will be lived and create the Catholic faith in me and especially in my children.
