Tawau : Around 400 parishioners bade farewell to Fr. Phillip Muji and at the same time welcomed Fr. David Garaman to Holy Trinity Church in a fellowship dinner at the Parish Hall on Sunday, 27th February 2011.
On behalf of the parishioners, PPC chairman Mario Domingo thanked Fr. Phillip for having come over to Holy Trinity two years ago, when the parish seemed to have that big hurdle in getting an assistant priest. He assured Fr. Phillip of their continuous prayers in his new posting as the assistant rector of St. Mary’s Cathedral Sandakan.
In welcoming the new assistant rector Fr. David, he said that the newly ordained priest is not new to us as he did a year of his pastoral immersion as a seminarian here 2 years ago.
In his speech, the rector Msgr. Nicholas Ong also expressed his deep gratitude to Fr. Phillip.
“Holy Trinity is a big parish with 29 outstations.  Fr. Phillip has in the past 2 years helped out in taking care of the youths, the out stations, hospital, the elderly and homebound visits.”

Fr. David was welcomed by the pastoral council members in their recent monthly meeting and has celebrated the sunset mass with the parishioners the evening before.

As it was also Fr. Phillip’s 3rd priestly ordination anniversary, the PPC chairman  also on behalf of all those present, wished Fr. Phillip of many more years of fruitful service in the Lord’s vineyard.

The program then proceeded to the cutting of the anniversary cake for Fr. Phillip, followed by the dinner reception prepared by the Catholic Women’s Apostolate.
