Msgr Nicholas celebrating the Solemnity of Corpus Christi

Tawau : 85 children received their first Holy Communion at Holy Trinity Church during the Eucharistic Celebration on 26 June 2011, Feast of Corpus Christi.

The communicants
They have been well prepared for this important event in a Eucharistic Camp the month before.
Msgr. Nicholas Ong, the celebrant asked the parents and God parents to continue guiding and supporting the children in building up their faith and understanding the meaning of the Eucharist.
The Offertory
“The Eucharist that we celebrate every Sunday is the body of Christ who had conquered sin and death” he said.
Receiving Holy Communion for the first time
“By receiving the body of Christ in the Eucharist, we though many, are united as one in communion with God.”

“We remember how the Holy Scriptures tells us that man does not live by bread alone but from the words of God, and the word of God is alive and leads us to live in harmony, peace and happiness. It leads us to our salvation.”
In deep prayer after receiving Holy Communion
Msgr. Nicholas said to the children,” You must come and receive the body of Christ every Sunday so that your faith will grow strong.”
After the mass, the children together with their parents and God parents gathered at the church basement for a simple fellowship.
