TAWAU, 17 JUNE 2024: The need for more Catholics to be part in the Synodality programs at all level is being called for. Rev. Fr. Nicholas Ong in his speech during the launching of a sport event here said more effort are needed to spread the call for more to become part of it especially among the young Catholics.

He said this last Friday when the two days PMG Sport Day event was launched witnessing some 300 youths and children taking part in street soccer’s and telematch competitions organized by Pertemuan Minggu Gembira(PMG) of the Holy Trinity Church which carried the theme `Unity Toward a Synodal Community’.

Rev. Fr. cited the purpose of Synodality is to bring them in a journey together as people of God thus the call for all Catholics to be more pro-active in answering the call.
Coming together for one purpose
Earlier, in another speech made by the PPC chairman, Steven Sagunting, appreciation was extended to all who had supported the event through their sponsorships and other efforts which had resulted in the successful outcome of the event. Among those attending the launching was Sr. Mary How.
The event was held at the Holy Trinity Secondary School’s basketball court.

Nicholas Ong dalam ucapan perasmiannya semasa pelancaran program sukan Dan sukaneka anjuran PMG Gereja Holy Trinity baru-baru ini berkata lebih banyak usaha adalah perlu untuk menyebarkan program ini kepada umat lebih-lebih lagi dikalangan golongan belia dan beliawanis Katolik.
Beliau berkata demikian dalam acara tersebut yang diadakan selama dua hari (15, 16 Jun) di gelanggang bola keranjang SM Holy Trinity meliputi penglibatan lebih kurang 300 belia Dan beliawanis dalam acara `street soccer’ dan permainan sukaneka dengan tema ` Perpaduan Menuju Komuniti Bersinodal’.
Rev. Fr. Juga berkata matlamat Sinodal adalah untuk bagi semua mengalami perjalanan secara bersama sebagai pengikut Tuhan dan mengesa agar lebih ramai menjadi pro-aktif dalam menyahut seruan tersebut.
Sebelum itu, dalam satu ucapan oleh pengerusi PPC, Steven Sagunting, menghulurkan penghargaan beliau kepada semua yang telah memberi sokongan terhadap program tersebut melalui pelbagai cara termasuk penglibatan yang telah melihatkan kejayaan program tersebut.
